In the wake of the destruction wrought by Hurricane Katrina, the level of suffering, devastation and
general human crisis gripping the region has been both shocking and beyond imagination. The efforts to
rebuild the region will take time and significant resources. With so many evacuees left helpless, the World
Health Ambassador Program is reaching out to those affected.
The World Health Ambassador Program (WHA) invites you to the Hope for Tomorrow Benefit for victims
of Hurricane Katrina in the Biloxi & Gulfport, Mississippi area. Ravaged by the storm, many displaced
families have lost not only their homes but their means of livelihood.
Amid the despair, there is Hope for Tomorrow. The WHA Katrina Relief Team will be traveling to the
Gulf Coast to provide critical care to survivors, help with applying for government assistance, find
temporary housing and conduct a needs assessment to determine future needs of the community in the coming
months. The funds raised from the benefit will help alleviate short term struggles and give hurricane victims hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Donations made payable to: VAMA Foundation. Note the memo line: Katrina Relief Fund. Mail
checks to: WHA, 5870 N. 14th St., Arlington, VA 22205
For more information please email: benefit@whausa.org or visit our website at www.whausa.org
