2024 Philippines Medical and Dental Mission
April 13, 2024
From April 13 - 22, 2024 WHA Team Members traveled to Palawan, Philippines to serve three barangays in the Municipality of Espanola, with medical and dental care. Nine volunteer doctors and dentists from the US and two members of the VN Dental Team partnered with Philippine government and local medical and dental authorities and colleagues to serve the people of the area. Our three-fold collaborative Mission included educational offerings, and medical and dental services for the people of Espanola.
2023 Vietnam Dental Mission
August 9, 2023
From August 9 - 12, 2023, members of the WHA Team from the US traveled directly from the Philippines Survey Mission to Vietnam to conduct a WHA Dental Mission with our WHA Vietnam Team members in the Tra Cu district. The WHA US and VN Team members, along with Tra Vinh University of Health Sciences and the Dental Association of Ho Chi Minh City conducted a joint Dental Mission, serving approximately 800 patients.
Since 2013, the WHA Vietnam Team, with regular logistical support from the WHA US Team, has completed more than 85 Dental Missions, and provided care to more than 48,600 individuals around the country. We are inspired by the Vietnam Team members and their dedication to help all the people they can.
2023 Philippines Survey and Diplomacy Mission

From August 5 - 9, 2023, members of the WHA Team traveled to the Philippines to meet with government health and administrative officials to investigate the possibility of a future Medical and Dental Mission to individuals in villages in Palawan, Philippines. Our gracious hosts shared their knowledge and customs with our team as well as hopes for partnerships and future collaborations. Our hope from this experience was to organize a Mission within a year to serve individuals in barangays in the municipality of Espanola with our colleagues in that area.
From March 16 - 31, 2019, volunteers traveled to Myanmar for a Medical and Dental Mission serving many in the country who would not have otherwise had access to in-depth health care services.
On this Mission, our 23-member WHA team of medical, dental and logistics volunteers worked together to treat over 1400 individuals with a variety of illnesses and issues, including helping an accident victim on the road to our next mission site! The team was also able to refer three children with serious heart issues to our colleagues in Vietnam for surgery there. Read the details shared by our Myanmar Mission Team:
March 25, 2017
From March 25 - April 2, 2017, WHA team members traveled to Vietnam to meet with officials and colleagues to support local efforts for medical relief and assess possibilities and partnerships for a future WHA Medical and Dental Mission there. We are particularly grateful to have had the chance to reunite with our WHA-Vietnam chapter members. We look forward to working in partnership with them, and all we were honored to meet, on our upcoming mission to best serve those in need.
2016 St. Vincent Medical and Dental Mission

October 8-16, 2016, WHA went to St. Vincent in the Caribbean for a Medical and Dental Mission. The team consisted of 12 members, including medical and dental specialists from the United States and Vietnam. Our gracious host sent the following:
"On behalf of Medical Relief Association I am writing to express our deepest thanks to WHA and to each of you individually, for volunteering your time and skills, during your recent medical and dental mission trip to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Your kindness, generosity and hard work has directly benefited numerous patients who otherwise could not afford the cost
of care which the team provided. Thanks for investing in this mission and for donating the dopplers to the clinics for which the nurses would forever be grateful.
Thank you once again. It was truly an honor to have you with us and we do look forward to your return visits in the future. Please feel free to share your pictures of the entire trip with us so that we can cherish those memories for a long time."
